It is fused in high temperature furnace, been added with the right quantity of oxidized chromium. Its hardness is close to, but toughness higher than that of White aluminium oxide. The abrasive tools made of it are suitable for the precision grinding of the measuring tools, lathe main shafts, instruments and apparatus parts, threading workpieces and samplers, etc.
